woohoo! my mom sent me a care package today! it was full of baked goodness and the k-pax soundtrack. awesome! its a really good soundtrack, it uses alot of pianos but has an electronic side to it. but anyways, todays a good good good day. its the first day of ramadan, i got a hundred on my vehicle performance test (at least im very sure about getting a hundred), and i received an e-mail from w. eric martin, allowing me to post his article (maybe next time) on my site.

updates . . . posted that article and updated my mp3 list. all can be found in the files section.

so i was walking to the student center today (i left class ten minutes early to make it to jummah prayer) and as i was walking, this person steps in front of me and falls down. now, i didnt bump into him and it was obviously staged but my reaction was to say im sorry and keep on walking. at about this point, another person steps out dressed in a referee outfit tooting his whistle yelling foul, i kept walking for if i didnt keep my pace id miss the first jummah prayer of ramadan. this guy runs up behind me screaming foul (btw, its loud enough that everyone in the skiles walkway and student center area is paying attention to me) and he hands me a basketball schedule and tells me to go to the game this weekend.

dont read yet smitha, its not done!

after prayers i went to pick up my care package (was quite hefty, the postage was around ten dollars and fifty cents) and was walking out when i was accosted by many strong nasty smells. the smell of cigarette smoke, strong cologne, and strong perfume, i thought my nose would start to bleed, but it didnt thank goodness. i wish more people would be more strong smell considerate.

an e-mail my friend got from one of the Ærospace professors here at tech, its one hundred percent true and just shows you how terrible some instructors can be:

beautiful rendition. as ive said in my last post, she has an amazing voice.

havent done any work today. i went to bed last night feeling rather sick, skipped my japanese class this morning and woke at two in the afternoon feeling somewhat better, not much though. i did no work monday, and today, ive done the same amount of work.

wait, ive done some work, ive read over my gas dynamics material and did half of my structures homework, buuut i couldve done more :) just taking a little break from school, thats all. though, after this week, its crunch time for finals. which i sooo hope i can pass.

short post no? cause theres nothing new in my life! other than some chinese food that i ordered tonight, the new episode of smallville and gillmore girls (the only television shows i watch anymore), and . . . yeah. wait! im also planning on making a cowboy bebop music video. though, im just looking for a song to use. ill start the actual production next semester. i have a final fantasy seven video planned out (music, storyboard, clips, and timing) but i never got around to making it. but i have a test on friday and monday, no time for slacking!

i think im getting sick, at least i think my body is telling me *pssst buddy, im sick, take a day off* and im like *whaaat! cant you see im working! come back later!* so if i do get sick i hope its during break. cant afford to feel like trash right now.

right, lame post, just trying to stay in the habit of posting. but before i go, a little something for you guys out there. read this. i found this article last year as i was walking down the math department hallway, and i just thought it was . . . sooo well written. anywho, thats it from me, time to prepare for bed.

the dynamics test went okay. i had a chance to pull past the majority of the class, but i wrote one of the forces wrong in the free body diagram which completley threw off problem number one, i skipped number two, and finished number three. so i think i got a c on it. speaking of tests, i have one this friday, and one next week. then . . . thanksgiving! and then, finals!!! oh my god! this semesters almost over! im almost done with my junior year! gasp! the world is rushing towards me too soon, im not ready i tell you!

updates, updated my mp3 list. ripped some cds i had laying around because my personal cd players is still broken. put my macross plus ost on, and some nitin sawhney and others. but i think my current favorite is natacha atlas. her voice is . . . gorgeous. loverly, thats about all that i can say of her.

this weekend i went and saw monsters inc . . . wait, that was last weekend, this weekend, i think . . . i did nothing. our friend andrew came up from florida for a visit. he got readmitted into tech for next semester. we just played video games and goofed around. matts father came by too sunday night, and we all went out to houstons for some grub. most of us ordered the chiken tenders, now mind you this is a fancy restaurant, and we ordered chicken tenders. they gave us fancy chikcen tenders (which i didnt know you could have). but it was veeery good. very tender. all the sauces (ketchup, some good mustard thing, and barbecue) came in nifty tin cups. and they had a holder with a head that flipped up to reveal sugar packets inside. it sorta resembled macs head from the jetsons (you know, the robot that had a crush on rosie).

hmmm . . . were planning on going to see harry potter this friday night, though i dunno about the ticket situation. were planning on going to the theater at about noon and getting them, but theyve been selling them in advance for awhile, so we might have to wait till next semester to get a show. and this weekend, other than studying for a test, i might go stargazing with smitha and others, though i dunno, everythings very uncertain this early in the week, but i do hope i get to go, cause . . . ive never been, seems like a nice thing.

in totally unrelated news, my hobbit name is bingo bumbleroot of fair downs. go see whats your hobbit name. other than that, im off to watch some conan obrien and write some e-mails. ive done no work today, and i do belive that im close to burning out. hopefully, i can stay whole till mid december. see you all later.

but before i go, i have something to say about todays plane crash in queens. please dont jump to conclusions! all we know is that the engine fell off and the plane crashed. now, engines have fallen off before (yes, its happened more than once before), and there is nothing linking this to another terrorist attack. yes its been two months, but thats coincidence, i mean come on, what of political world importance is in queens? nothing. this morning i walked out of dynamics and overheard someone from the class say to the extent of that if the schools protect the rights of foriegn students, thats a bunch of crap, cause theyre not citizens and therefore have no rights in our country. sooo i slowly gravitated towards another part of the side walk, as i did not want him eyeing my golden brown skin and have me marked. craziness.

some quick updates before i get back to studying, so according the bill, the two equals one proof doesnt work because "the problem is (a-b) is zero since a=b. so when you factor out (a-b) you divide by zero", sounds good to me, thanks bill.

smitha helped me out with the japanese i wrote yesterday, so thats all fixed up now, i misspelled beer and used the wrong particle after honto.

this georgia weather is completley random, its a nice day outside today, last week i think it was freezing, who knows what itll be like tomorrow. anyway, im off to do some system dynamics studying, we have a test tomorrow on mutli degree of freedom systems. wish me luck.

i had a good sleep this morning. though really freaky dreams in which my parents where killed off by some mafia men and they were after me next. i dont rember the rest, but i do know that it wasnt very pleasant. woke up around eight in the morning to the sound of a plunger going to work in the bathroom. so the other night i sent in a request into housing for them to come down and de-clog our drain, cause it was getting to a point where the water would come up about two inches past our ankles, not very enjoyable. but anyways, housing has a reputation for taking awhile, so i was extremely surprised to see them working so early in the morning so soon, but i quickly fell back asleep and ran to japanese class when i noticed that it was ten till it started. no time for a shower, zoom i went out the door.

so in japanese class, were learning how to tell our daily routine and all. we learned some handy new verbs, like eat: ta-be-mas, sleep: ne-mas, watch: mi-mas, do: shi-mas. so then, bo-ku-wa it-su-mo bii-ru no-mi-mas means: i drink beer all the time. de-mo bo-ku-wa hon-to-ni zen-zen bii-ru no-mi-ma-sen means: but i really never drink beer. it still amazes me in class right now, what a large percentage of the class is unable to answer simple question properly without having to look through the book for a few minutes. *sigh* oh well, more points for me :)

heres something my friend sent me, if you can prove it wrong, please tell me! the algebra looks right, but it still shouldnt work out!

proof that 2=1
a=b
a2= b2
a2=bb
a2=ab
a2-b2=ab-b2
(a-b)(a+b)=b(a-b)
a+b=b
2b=b
2=1

in other news . . . my moms sending me a care package! yay! its full of wholesome sugary goodness. she told me that she put in a small marble cake, some cookies, and some doughnuts, all homemade! i cant wait! cause i miss my moms food alot. i cant wait till thanksgiving break!

this weekend, i think it was saturday, smitha (i finally met her! woohoo!), michÆl, and i went to see monster inc. which was a great movie! it was sooo cuuute! and the animation was top notch, just check out the hairs on sulley. they also showed the starwars episode two teaser trailer. all i can say, is that george sure knows how to build suspense and keep the audience captivated.

before i head off to sleep, thanks to andy for linking to me on his site.

sooo, its been awhile since i last updated this thing. once you get into a funk of not posting, it becomes harder to post. but im out of so called funk. classes have been keeping me extremely busy. extremely busy. so busy, that i havent had a week at all this semester test free. evey single week, i have a test. *sigh* i cant wait for this semester to be over. so i can move onto next semester! with my ninteen hours of classes! lets see, im taking structures, structures lab, flight dynamics, controls, jet and rocket propulsion, high speed Ærodynamics, and japanese i01. sick isnt it? though, after that semester, my last year should be a breeze, with just senior design and a few classes left to finish. im planing on doing some research and finishing off my free electives during the summer semester, then hopefully, ill be able to get into grad school here.

got done with a thermodynamics test today. it was sooo hard. i just can seem to grasp the material. im doing well in all my other Ærospace classes, except this one. i sooo hope i pass, if not, i get pushed back a semester, its one of those classes thats required by most of the higher level classes. after the test, we watched episode two and three of vandread, a really good anime. though, the best anime ive seen so far this year has to be read or die. the animation and storyline is simple amazing! sadly though, its only an ova with three episodes :( after our fun with anime, we went to regal cinema to catch the one. and it was . . . not good. the action scenes and cg were great, the story though, couldve been much better. much much better. last week i went and saw k-pax, and that movie was a good one, despite what the critics have to say. you just have to let yourself believe what is being presented to you. tomorrow, i might be going to see monsters inc. though im not sure, i hope so, anythng with the pixar name on it must be good.

so for dinner we went to a cracker barrel. my first time there and that place is great! the foods delicious and inexpensive. i paid for my friends and my meal, and then we bought a tonne of candy and it all totaled twenty dollars plus tip! its like a high quality waffle house. the candy will hopefully keep me satisfied for awhile.

forecast for next few days, register for classes, finish dynamics homework, pray to allah for salvation from thermodynamics, fast some more, read some, sleep a bit, and study for my dynamics, japanese, circuits, and structures test. fun! see you all later.

first off, id like to wish my little sister (heidi) and my uncle in irvine a very merry birthday! shes thirteen today and hes ummm . . . something older than my mother, and just think, it seemed like only yesterday she was a little toddler toddling around the room. time goes by fast. exponentially fast if you ask me. why, we have abuot two months left of this semester. and then, im a semester away from being a senior, three semesters away from graduationg. time does go by fast. for all of you young people out there, enjoy high school when you can, cause it just gets harder from here on out.

erric serras one awesome musician, the fifth element soundtrack is wonderful, though a bit repetitive. and the movies a good fun watch, nothing spectacular, just an entertaining movie. though, the professional (leon) is of the greatest movies ive ever seen, i have the regular version, want to get the directors cut with twenty extra minutes of footage. very very good movie.

other luc besson movie, the messenger. its the story of joan of ark, told as only luc besson knows how to write stories. a rather interesting take on the story.

so, fall break was good, relaxing, but not long enough. the trip up there was okay. i went to the airport four hours early so just to take into account delays and such, so i hopped on marta and rode down to hartsfield airport and checked in under thirty minutes, so much for being held back because of my name and skin color and just general suspicion. so i spent the rest of the time reading thermodynamics and fazing in and out of sleep (i pull all-nighters before plan rides so i can fall asleep fast, cause theyre just so boring!). so iowa was extremely frigid. my parents would leave the heater off and the temperature would reach down to the sixties in the house! i mean, saving energys one thing, freezing the familys another. i asked my mom if i could drop out of Ærospace and come home and do nothing, she said no. so my break consisted of sleeping, eating, and sleeping. lots of sleeping in a nice big bed. with no distractions or everquest sounds in the background, twas pure bliss.

so the trip back was crazy, my dad flew me into kansas city (which is four hours from ottumwa) so we had to drive down to kansas city, and then, arriving two hours before flight time, i barely made it! the line was a mile long and they only had two windows open! and then security check in was insane, all the guys had to take of their belts and such. the snacks sucked, the coke was good, and the kid behind me (despite her cuteness) was screaming and talking a bit too much for my comfort.

so since tuesday night, ive been working hard on Ærospace, had a test yesterday and a test today (a make up vibrations test that was extremely harder than the previous one, even though there were only two questions this time) and i have a test on monday and another one on wednesday. such is my life, ive had a test every week since schools started. no rest for the weary, or something like that.

in other news, ive begun working on the new yearbook, so far, the design ideas look promising, and im starting to update the bsa web-page. hopefully by monday ill be able to obtain an account for us to use on the cyberbuzz server. thats the news for now. see you guys later.

im wondering how long i can listen to this cd before i chuck into my drawer never to be played again. i think my longest record for listening to a cd continously was orbital - the middle of nowhere. it was during our trip to bangladesh that i had it on repeat for three days. then . . . i put it down for about a few months or so before playing it again. though, my most played if all time is hybrid - wide angle. you just cant go wrong with any of their songs, simply marvelous work.

i like symmetry. its all around us, cars, people, animals, etc . . . (aysmmetys fine too, but only in certain things, like an asymmetric car wouldnt look to good, nor would an aysmmetric rabbit). so being the man of symmetry that i am, i decided to even out and balance my list of injuries. remeber a while back, when i banged my elbow on the computer case and was in the worst pain of my life for about five minutes? well last night, i was sleeping with my back to my wall (more like i was sleeping with my head at the foot of my head) so i go to turn over in my sleep and thinking that i have plenty of room (ie im sleeping the right way and theres no wall to my back) i smash my elbow into the wall with a large *thump!*. my first thought was (before the nerves picked up the contact) *this cannot be good at all*. i can assure you, it wasnt. in fact, for another five minuets, my arm was on fire/dipped in liquid nitrogen/being eaten away by eighty molar hydrochloric acid. i buried my face in my pillow and tried really hard from screaming out loud, waking my roomies. so now both my hands are weird (ive got residual effects on the right hand, and now the left arms hurtin too, curse my odd sleeping habits!).

i visited stor and made some bodies representing myself, though i wasnt able to find matching hair, heres what i look like.

in other news, we got our vibrations tests back today. grade distribution was all over the board. i think about four or so people got as (one hundred to seventy) five or so got bs (sixty nine to fifty, i got a b) three got cs (forty nine to forty) and the rest were ds and fs. the majority of the class failed. after he handed the tests out, he said 'every year ive noticed a theme with the first test, why is that so?'. he really sounded like he didnt know why people were failing the class. he giving a remake test next friday in hopes that we improve our grades. ive got to finish my circuits homework before six today and my thermo homework tommorow, for i rather not take it with me over fall break.

Click here to find out what robot you really are

so im checking out other peoples logs and art work, and it just stuns me how awesome some of them are! i gotta brush up on my skills. theyre becoming rusty, if they were ever there.

. . . hmmm . . . nope . . . i thinks thats about it for now. time to get working.

todays a very fallish day. i sleep with my window open (nice source of white noise and plus it keeps my room well ventilated) and i when i woke, my room was abosultey frozen. outside its bleak and chilly, and the streets are strewn with leaves that have fallen the night before. so i shower and go have lunch wearing a white and red hawiian shirt. it did nothing to keep me warm, shoulve brought my jacket along also.

lunch consisted of a hamburger, chicken burger, french fries, and some brocolli (yes, brocolli! whats wrong with that?), washed down with two glasses of cherry coke. gaaah! i hate the cafeteria! theyre never have anything remotely edible to eat on the weekends. at least i had a good book to keep me company (neil gaiman - neverwhere). whenever i sit down to eat, i have to be next to a wall or a pillar, or something that will give me partial cover. against what though? i just feel uncomfortable knowing that others can watch me eat. it drives be batty when we get a table in the center of the dining establishment.

my cd-player is officially bust. its been dropped, left in the sun, dropped some more, im surprised its survived this long. it was one of those last make sony thin cd-players with the round silver metallic buttons arranged in two rows of four on the top of the player. was a fine machine. awhile ago, it developed a sort of intelligence of its own. it would change the volume level on its own, and display the value of the current volume in units of a number from zero to ten, with three bars to the side so show further unit detail. and its not supposed to be able to do that. and it likes to play jokes on me by changing the opertaion assigned to a specific button. for instance, i would hit fast forward, and the cd player would skip back two tracks. but alas, my cd player is gone *now i have a valid excuse to get a new one!* . . . note to self, others can read your thoughts online when you type them out.

and now, this is the part of the log where the author likes to rant and rave of about whatever catches his fancy.

so im sitting at the cafeteria reading neverwhere and blink 182 - the rock show came on and ive noticed how most bands nowadays all sound alike. it seems like everyones given up on individual expression and went for the quick buck. think about it . . . the lyrics and all might be different, but it all sounds the same. my mom mailed me orbitals new album (had the hardest time trying to find it) and i popped it in, and it sounds great. it sounds like orbital. they have their own style. granted there are those in the electronic music industry that also go for the quick buck and end up producing stuff that sounds like what everyone else is making, but most of the big names (paul oakenfold, paul van dyk, orbital, the orb, moby, etc . . .) they all have a style which defines them . . . if this style, then music equals that artist. and whats with this new hairstyle ive been seeing, organized disorderly hair? eh? i just dont get it. why would one want to make his hair look messed up? and then you have those people wearing their visors backwards and upside down, and those that have a tshirt/whatever with the brands logo/name in large type for all to see. so its not the shirt they bought, but the name, the name doesnt give the wearer or shirt any amazing abilities or anything, just jacks up the price. mtv is to blame for all of this! how many people not in my generation (ie those younger than i, ie those still in highschool) read for fun? nah, most of them would rather plop down in front of the television and vegge out. i feel old. why, when i was a youngin, mtv used to play music.

updates, updated my mp3 list again (you can find it in the files section) and add the blogs that i read to the bar on the left. ive been meaning to start on my links page, but ive been too busy/lazy. yep, so then, go and read the blogs that i read! or go and read a book, or just get outside, you know the body needs sunlight to function properly.

a very good cover of the orginal smooth criminal. my favorite part is two minutes and twenty three or so seconds into the song, where they have the awesome guitar solo! choice music.

so, i got a computer now. still the same one, but with a fixed graphics card and now running windows two thousand. took me about ten tries to install it properly, because itd keep hanging on startup when after i installed roxio cd creator five point o platinum. so i thought that windows was messed up, so i reformatted and reinstalled about ten times. till i go to their site and read about it being a compatibility issue with roxio. much as i dont like windows oss, gotta love their tech support and information of the oss on their site.

in other news, i failed a thermodynamics remake test, as did everyone else in the class, loverly.

tomorrows a big day, got lots of homework to do. five vehicle performance questions and fourteen or so laplace transforms to work out, then i have to study for a test in vibrations for monday. what fun, what joy, what rapture. ive heard grad school is much easier than undergrad. why you ask? well heres why. i can take one class and have it be a full load. meaning. i can take one class at a time, and ace it. i can get out of grad school with a four point o gpa if i work enough. and on top of that, i can get a par-time job/ta/teach a class. amazing. problem is that i have to get into grad school first.

random story about me and bangladesh. so i think this was the first time i went to visit about eight years ago, yes! when i was twelve, odd now, that im twenty. but anyways, so bangladesh has this funky thing going on with their electricity. it being that there are shorts and brown/black outs like everyday, and the wirings not that great. so me and my cousin decide to sleep upstairs in my mothers old room, and it has a rather old ac in there. so its summer time down there and very very humid. our uncle told us before hand not to touch the ac because its very faulty. so my cousin goes to touch it and get zapped, then i touch him to make sure hes okay, and i get zapped. later that week i went to turn off my unclec lamp, a rather expensive looking procelain thing. touch the top where theres metal, get zapped big time. try to jerk my hand back, and the darn thing follows and crashes to the ground to a million billion pieces. he (my uncle) wasnt very happy. that summer, i think i got shocked at least ten more times ranging from power outlet discharge to static buildup.

right, did you enjoy? just making sure i can remember things from way long ago. my heads currently a jumble. off to bed i go, to rest so i may score four million points on three d pinball for windows.

just got up from sleep. did some homework yesterday. gonna do some more today. i thought my midterms were over. well, they were. i just have three more regular tests next week. honestly now, ever since this semester started, ive had at least two tests a week. its insane. i got my thermodynamics test back yesterday. i received a whopping eighteen of a hudred points! the class averaged twenty eights points, and the highest grade was a fifty nine. so bad were the results, that were having a redo test wendsday night.

since hamza is very busy this is his cousin/friend Takanga (not actual name) and i will be filling in for him. wow this is really hard.....i guess he usually write about his day so he's been taking a bunch of tests and hasn't had time 2 update this thing. as for me, well i woke up really late 2 day so i had 2 hurry and catch the bus. it was pretty much around 7:35 when i got up and my bus leaves at 8 or something. o yea i'm in 8th grade. then i had a math test. it was actually easier then i thought it would be.....then in gym it was SOOOOO cold so i was shivering and stuff and was curled up into a little ball. we were sitting on the bleachers the wrong way on the top bleacher and had our feet dangling or something. so i almost fell of to my death a couple of times.....lol:) it would have been some entertainment....then in art the teacher went on forever about masks(we're making them in art) but the good thing is is that i found some stuff for lunch so i got 2 eat 2day. actually i eat everyday but it was a good lunch 2day. hmm...then in tech ed since i'm just a helper i walked around and read my book. in social studies we watched a movie about how nice iowa is...riiiiiiiiight.....and in science we reviewed for a test. well that was my day i'm sorry if i bored u out of ur mind but hamza and i decided he needed to put SOMETHING new on his page. buhbye:)

quickly! before its the twenty second and im forced to update the hub too. so how are you guys enjoying your friday nights? me . . . did some work, went out with my friends to american cafe for some dinner. i ordered the bugandy (the alcohol is burned out of it) burger, but they accidently brought me a regular burger, so i told them and they brought me the right one, but they only charged me for the regular burger! i saved fifty cents!

eric wasnt feeling very well, seems as if he might have caught a nasty bug. im not feeling that great either. i had sporadic moments of sleep last night and i feel tired as hell. i think my sense of time is wacked, cause fifteen minutes just passed and it felt like three. yeah, sure signs of sleep deprivation. other signs, your heart feels like its going to explode. this weeks gonna be tough. im off to the dungeon tomorow to do some studying, so occupy yourselves with my graphics and past ramblings. ill be seeing you when all this craziness is over (next thursday) wish me luck and pray for my survival.

oh terrible day! i thought i was ready for the test, i knew i was ready for the test. i got the test and looked at it and my eyes went wide. the problems were like the homework and all, but they all asked for the specific fuel consumption. now, the problem is that, the book just gives a definition for it, the teachers never lectured on the specifics of it, and none of the homework problems ask for it. its like knowing how to do multiplication, but then being asked to divide. impossible if youve never seen it before. after the test was over, the whole class was looking at each other, as if to say 'what the hell was that?'. i hate Ærospace.

ive got about ten minutes before i have to head for jummah namaj and the library. got to get as much work done as i can stomach today. im out all day tomorow basically, leaving me sunday to study. have two tests on monday and a homework due . . . *sigh* my work never ends.

so eric and matt were working on a cs2200 project all night and morning long. their conversation of how to code it were absorbed into my head and transfigured into a nightmare. basically, my final was due in ten minutes and i had to write a program, the only problem is that i dont know how to program anything other than a vcr and html. brings back memories of cs1301.

so my cpu fans not dying. i opened the cover and checked everything out, and the graphics cards fan (this is matts graphics card) is the culprit. its messed up and keeps reving up, down, left, right, then stops, then goes slowly, then continues. i cant wait till i get my geforce2 ultra back. not that this one isnt bad, its a tnt2 ultra. very good card.

well, im off. pray for me and wish me luck in my upcoming tests and whatnots.

updates galore! ive decided on that their will be thirty posts to a page before i start a new one. also, i junked the old prism site. the design and text werent going together well. so i have a new design, and it looks pretty cool, or at least thats what downtym says. go see it here. but . . . its only for internet explorer users. yeah, well boo to you guys too! i just couldnt take anymore of netscapes anal-retentive method of handling html and the such. the new prism site uses dhtml and css, none of which render properly in netscape. and plus, netscapes seems sooo . . . bulky. and internet explorer allows me to have more viewing room, while keeping the buttons all lined up neatly at the top. so yeah, no more web-pages for netscape, unless i absolutley have to. ive been wanting to use css on multiples of five, but its gotten to a point where id have to spend a month going through the code and making the correct changes. also, im starting my links page. since my computer crashed a long time ago, i lost all my carefully organized and collected links, time to start anew. hmmm . . . i think thats about it for updates.

operation infinite justice. omg! thats about all i can say. my stance . . . neutral. im hesitant to pass judgement. what i will say, is that they certainly did choose a rather grandiose name. maybe if i find the longbow im questing after in d&d, ill call it the longbow of infinite justice.

*yawn* todays gonna be a looong day. have a vehicle performance test tomrow, but im all set for that. just have to read over my notes. then i have three more tests next week. all of them hard. *sigh* i just wanna sleep and design.

im so tired! oi! ive been up since two this afternoon, reading and reading and reading and solving these damn thermodynamics problems. that subject is the science of hell, i kid you folks not. the front, back and spine of my book are covered in flames. ill try to put up a pick. but all the work ive done today feels good. cause i can go to sleep now and not worry about having wasted my day slacking off. so here i am, sitting back, updating, and listening to some music.

im working on this new html project. a sort of dekstop organizer. all the other organizers out there have such bad designs! not very appealing to the eye. downtyms writing a perl script for it thatll allow you to update the . . . thing. and as soon as i can scan all my pictures in, ill be starting a new html project.

i went to andoruss weblog today, and theres a mention of me 'frequenting' her site. i wonder how many people are viewing my site? none most likely. the darn things not registered with any search engine, and i dont have a counter to keep count. i should get one, theyre very powerful indeed. displaying all sorts of data on those that visit your site. but then again, i hate the damn icons and such they have me put on.

i had a strange strange dream last night. me and some friends of mine were straffing the shaft and other notable icons of work here at tech in f-fourteen tomcats. we logged about two thousand or so hours. i woke before we got to jump into some f-twenty two raptors. deep? taking into account all thats happened last week? or i have i just been working to hard in Ærospace? combination of the two sounds best.

and on that note, im gonna go read some snow crash. fine fine fine fine book. gotta love the characters name . . . hiro protagonist. get it? right. later.

nothing really to report here. other than thermodynamics sucks.

and so does fox. came back from studying hardcore at the library for some simpsons, and instead theyre showing mrs. doubtfire. not that its a bad movie, but im more in the mood for homers antics.

maybe ill just read a book instead. thinking about snowcrash or hollow man. i finished reading stardust by neil gaiman today. really good book. very short though.

view my updated mp3 list here. i started with about seventeen hundred, but squeezed it down to 1266.

you know the one, the song that plays in like every final fantasy game, either as the intro music, or somewhere in the end credits, or when you die. the vocals on it are awesome.

so i think everyone will agree with me when i say that this week was just the worst week ever. when i think about (and think hard) im still in a state of disbelief. two rather iconic buildings, gone in a matter of an hour or so. and the people that lost their lives, astronomical! what would lead someone or some people to commit such a heinous crime? they must have been triping big time.

i woke up that day after five hours of sleep, and got on the bus to my class that morning. my friend got on and told me that the towers were hit, and the pentagon also. first thing i did was to check my watch and make sure that it wasnt april fools day. second thing i did was not believe her. in my head were running clips from independance day. as she was telling me the details she mentioned airplanes hit them. i took airplanes to be some little private jet such as a lear jet or a cessna. so i got to japanese not believing a word of it. the room was abuzz with what happened and all i could think was 'wow'. thats it.

day progreses and i still dont know of the severity till i watch the pictures and video of the towers crumbling to the ground and of the airplanes flying into them. my mind was overwhelmed and all i could say was 'holy shit!', i dont think anyone near me got offended.

what a day! so lets see. my geforce2 ultra decides to quit on me. so after bout and hour of trouble shooting, ive determined that the cards bust. so i now have to call up mwave and tell them that i need to send it back and for them to send me a new vid card. *sigh* so im guessing its gonna be about two weeks. so right now im using a friends vid card. its your everyday basic two-d card. thankfully he had one on him for me to bum. two weeks! without photoshop. and this annoying refreshing blink whenever im typing into the screen or doing something new. also it cant handle that many windows open at once. and lags alot. tricked out system, minus the graphics card. wonderful! and now the colors are so damn dark!

on another related note, i banged my elbow on the compter cases edge as i was getting up to turn it back on. now im sure you guys have hit your 'funny' bone before. well imagine that multiplied by about one hundred. i was in serious pain for about five minutes till it subsided. my friends thought i stabbed myself in the heart with a screwdriver. but its been about an hour and my pinkie and side of my hand still feels alseep. if its still there in the morning, im gonna call someone up, the doctor preferably.

i got no work done today! so im going to pull my first all nighter people! wish me luck. gotta do a tonne of homework, write a program and learn japanese before tomorow morning. and then im going to have to stay awake throughout my classes! wish me luck as i embark upon this perilous journey. ill have to stock up on coffee and other goods.

at least i organized all my mp3s now. i think i have close to twelve hundred. most of them techno though. i should be getting back to my readings so i dont have more time later this night to do my work. right. later.

i can see it in your eyes

Ærodynamic alright. had my first vehicle performance test this morning. went to bed at three last night after reviewing for one last time. got to class, received the test, and flew through it like the sr-71 on a reconnaissance flight into russia. that damn test never knew what hit him till it was too late. booyaa! im riding high on a rush (combined with a short nap during thermodynamics).

so were studying in the library thursday night for the test, and i think to myself that when i grow up, become a successful/rich engineer, ill make a club. its gonna be called "the 5th at 5". cause we (my Æ buddies and i) meet on the fifth floor of the library at five oclock. so im gonna recreate the 5th floor of the library, complete with books and tables, broken clock and constantly ringing elavator. students of georgia tech Ærospace engineering get a huge discount, the original crew of the study group course will be shareholders, and profesors cant get in, unless theyre cool.

in system dynamics today, we learned about harmonic systems. very interesting stuff. in one scenario, the denominator goes to zero as the oscillations of the force match that of the system which is known as resonance. so what happens is that the thing shoots to infinity! right, might not seem very interesting or even remotley so to you, but what can i say? im an Æ and i wouldnt be doing this stuff if i didnt like it, unless i was on crack or something.

roleplaying tonight! w00t! so this campaigns should take us to level fourteen or so (if we all survive that is). and in the process im questing for a magical longbow, longsword, and armor, that belonged to a great elf long ago. riiight.

todays my only off day though. tomorow i gotta get back to work. got a test, a program, and a tonne of homework problems due next week. catch you on the flip side.

right. well. im now back at tech with a nice net connection and a new computer. after arriving home from the bma (which was over on august 11th something) my hard drive starts making a really loud whiring noise. so i run scandisk and come back later to see this message (or something similar) error: could not write to drive c. so i quickly pop in a zip disk and save all my work on it. then i restart, and i get a new error, could not read fat. so i call up tech support and spend the next two days taking apart the computer and running tests to find out that my drive crashed. and yeah, before it died completley it made a sound that you get when you drop a ping pong ball on metal.

so gateway sends me a new hard drive. i pop it in, and cant get past the post screen. right. there goes the whole thing. so i spend three days this time with tech support trying all sorts of shit out till they tell me to send it in for service. right. im thinking thats going to take about three weeks to finish. so i ordered a new computer (sans monitor, ethernet, zip, modem, and sound card) from mwave.com for a great price. so it arives three days later in three packages totaling about forty pounds. managed to drag those (i dont have much upper body strength mind you) to the blueprint office where jhon was kind enough to offer me a ride back to my dorm. so after about a weekend of building, installing, and optimizing, i have a computer again! heres the specs. amd athlon 1.4 ghz 266 fsb, 512 mb ddr ram, asus a7m266 motherboard, soundblaster live sound card, pioneer 16x dvd drive, plextor 16/10/40 cdr, ibm 40 gig 7200 rpm hard drive, generic modem, 3com ethernet card, zip 100 drive, a floppy drive, gateway ev700 monitor, boston acoustics digital ba735 speakers, mouse, keyboard, and a geforce 2 ultra with 64 mb of ram and tv/dvi out. ahhh, this should last me for a couple of years.

all thats left is to transfer all my mp3s and whatnot over.

classes are rough this semester. im dropping tÆ kwan doe. ive taken 21 hours before and survived but the difference was, i had only two Æ classes. this semester ive got four plus japanese (which is harder than i imagined it to be) and a circuits class. yet it only totals 18 hours. lots and lots and lots of work. have two tests this week (second week into school) two more next week and a tonne of homework assigned. right. later all.

part of my shadowrun playlist. its such a great song, starts slow, launches off, and then immediately slows down again. the vocals are perfect. as soon as i get the individual sets together, im gonna burn them all onto md. i love my md player. its a sony mz-r70pc. sweet blue metal.

remember when books cost four dollars? i recentley bought a whole bunch of books, at a price of around siz dollars apiece. whats up with that? six dollars for a book. my entire summer allotment of money is spent, well nearly. i have twenty five dollars left. gotta save up for dragon con in august. im finally going! cant wait! thank goodness its during memorial day weekend. ill have to crunch before that however to get my class work out of the way.

in case you havent heard, theforge is moving. so after tomorow this site is no more till i get back to school. then itll be at http://phutro.resnet.gatech.edu/ so be patient. lets see . . . talked about books, dragon con, music, what else . . . hmmm . . . thats it for tonight i guess. see you later folks.
